Chronology of cameras Leonar
The German company Lüttke & Arndt, which later became Arndt & Lowengard and then Leonar Werke, was located in Wandsbek, near Hamburg. It produced photographic plates, films, and papers, and also manufactured cameras between 1900 and 1918.
__________The brand identification is facilitated by the presence of a plate marked "Leonar" under the U of the lens block. The body of the camera is made of wood covered with a metal base. The lens and shutter assembly are modest.
On this particular model, the lens has no brand. The Periscopic characteristic is in French, suggesting a sale in France.
It is in the 9 x 12 format, making it a C VI. This model is sometimes called Propaganda-Leonar, the name of a series of inexpensive models (source: McKeown).
